Smart Move by D.I.D. and Kube.
Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Innovation in a climate of economic adversity is essential for Irish business at the moment. The ability to offer your customers a new concept that will present improved value and service will define the companies who grow and those who struggle during this recession. The announcement this week that D.I.D. Electrical (www.DID.ie) and Kube Kitchens (www.kubekitchens.ie) have developed a strategic partnership, is a demonstration of one such move.

Consumers will now be able to shop for a designer kitchen and their entire appliance needs, from two separate companies, under one roof. Both companies have adopted the “store within a store” concept and opened their first venture at D.I.D. Electrical’s store in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

Kube, the Kitchen specialist who has very quickly established a reputation for delivering high-end designer German kitchens at affordable prices, has fitted out DID’s Bray store with a selection of contemporary and traditional kitchens. These kitchens showcase an array of DID’s integrated appliances giving the consumer an opportunity to capitalise on the aggressive pricing structure of both brands. The two companies have considerable buying power in their areas of expertise. This partnership allows the consumer benefit from lower supply chain costs.

D.I.D. Electrical, Irelands leading electrical retailer, are the first company of their kind to do this in Ireland. John Houlihan, managing director of DID explains, “When we first considered the concept, we did not realise how effective this could be. Both Kube and DID operate in the same market space. Customers, who for years have sourced their appliances independently from their Kitchen specialist, now have the opportunity to do this in one visit”.

Edward McNally, director of Kube, added, “our core business is designing and delivering dream designer German kitchens, we have always supplied kitchen appliances as part of our offering, but have recognised the customer’s desire to source their white goods from specialist electrical companies” This partnership gives the consumer an effortless opportunity to continue exercising their historic buying patterns.

D.I.D. and Kube, both wholly owned Irish companies, plan to roll out the next phase of this venture, with a Kube Kitchen Design Centre being installed in 3 additional DID’s stores.

Shopping for that new designer kitchen and high spec integrated kitchen appliance set, has just become a whole lot easier with the announcement that Kube Kitchens (www.kubekitchens.ie) and D.I.D. Kube, who have very quickly established a reputation for delivering high-end German kitchens at affordable prices, have fitted out DID’s Bray store with a selection of contemporary and traditional kitchens.
